Metros

Metropolitan railways, referred to as “metros”, are urban transit systems used for high capacity public transportation. Designed for operation underground, at street level or on elevated platforms, metros maintain their own right of way from pedestrian or road traffic. High headways require high uptime, which places a premium on system reliability and a capability to work in short time frames for installation and maintenance. Frauscher wheel sensors deliver robust performance able to withstand the difficult environmental conditions of a metro, coupled with low maintenance requirements to help achieve operational cost-efficiency. Various installations have also proven the benefit of using modern axle counters as a back-up system for CBTC on metro lines.

Frauscher products offer:

  • Reliability
  • High uptime
  • Ease of maintenance
  • Operational cost-efficiency
