Thanks to its open analogue interface, the new, highly-resistant Frauscher RSR110 wheel sensor guarantees that numerous applications can be implemented in a way that offers high availability and cost-effectiveness.
The wheel sensor can be easily integrated into the existing electronic systems via the open interface. The system integrator is also able to adapt the interpretation perfectly in line with its individual requirements.
Space and power consumption can be additionally minimized by saving on the number of required hardware components.

The RSR110 offers the user a high availability solution for switching and trigger tasks, such as:

The RSR110 002 will be equipped with only one sensor system and can thereby be integrated very easily into existing systems. It will provide a customized solution for applications where only a traversing axle has to be detected.
Wheel Sensor Signal Converter WSC
The Wheel Sensor Signal Converter WSC eases the basic evaluation of the analogue sensor signal. It will support both, system integrators and operators in planning and operating new systems when realizing various applications using the RSR110 sensor family.
Open interface for easy integration
Based on the open, analogue interface, the highly-resistant RSR110 can easily be integrated into the existing electronic systems. It combines very high availability with maximum flexibility. The patented rail claw and cable with a plug connection facilitate installation and commissioning, as well as replacement.
The analogue signal from the RSR110 can be interpreted precisely in line with your own definition, in accordance with specific requirements. The flexible interface facilitates the realization of a very wide range of applications. By way of example, these may include axle counting, wheel diameter calculation, speed measurement, hot box and wheel flat detection, as well as triggering.
Fewer hardware components and lower power consumption
Due to its high level of flexibility and wide range of possible applications, the RSR110 enables the number of hardware components to be reduced across the board. With the objective of making the use of wheel sensors more flexible and cost-effective, Frauscher has consistently adopted the use of rail claws in the mounting of its wheel sensors. Both the vignole rail claws and grooved rail claws are characterized by optimum flexibility and precision in mounting.
The connection of the wheel sensor cable to the cable system can be implemented via a trackside connection box. This contains nothing more than a clamping terminal, which does not require the use of any additional electronics in the vicinity of the track. Alternatively, it is also possible to connect the sensor cable to the system using a plug-in connection.
The plug-in connection cables for the RSR110 are available in a variety of versions. The sheath is available either as a tried-and-tested EPDM protection tube, a reinforced corrugated tube or a metal protection tube. Other specific types are also possible for use under particular conditions. In addition, it is possible to vary the length of the cable according to requirements.
